About the Ukrainian Programme of People in Need People in Need (PIN) began operations in Ukraine in 2003 with human rights programs and expanded to humanitarian assistance in 2014. With the full-scale invasion in February 2022, we significantly scaled up our programming across the country. Since then, PIN has reached almost 4 million people, working through a network of local partner organizations. Today, PIN has its offices and teams in 8 oblasts in Ukraine with more than 500 local and international staff working in Lvivska, Kyivska (head office), Sumska, Kharkivska, Dnipropetrovska, Mykolaivska and Khersonska, Zaporizka, and Donetska oblasts. - Main responsibility of the role is to provide technical support to PIN programme staff on the design, planning, implementation, coordination and technical supervision of Water, Sanitation, Heating and Hygiene (WASH) interventions, with renewable energy and innovative solutions integration, covering emergency, infrastructure rehabilitation, and early recovery, type of programming, implemented in response to the crisis caused by the current military operations and to ensure the WASH programme is implemented in line with PIN global, cluster and relevant technical standards and guidance.
- Immediate Priorities Support the programme teams with the identification of specific needs assessments on emergency, infrastructure rehabilitation, and early recovery type of WASH interventions.
- Based on the findings, support the programme team in developing integrated projects linking WASH with interventions with other PIN’s strategic sectors.
- Actively engage and participate in key coordination platforms including the WASH Cluster and two technical working groups – led by PIN – (1) Market-Based Programming for Hygiene (cash and voucher) and (2) Backup and Renewable Energy for WASH.
- External coordination with other stakeholders (i.e. national and international organizations implementing similar programming, governmental institutions responsible for WASH (+Heating) related services, private sector and academia, especially in the field of climate change adaptation, energy safety and sustainability, etc).
